On 09/07/2005 Shri Probal Sengupta the then Officer in-Charge of Barikul Police Station went to village Majgeria to investigation the murder of (i) Bablu Mudi s/o Habu Mudi & (ii) Raghunath Murmu by the Left Wings Extremists. In course of inspection of the place of occurrence, he sustained serious injuries by an explosion of bombs, planted at the place of occurrence by the extremists as a body trap. He succumbed to his injuries within a few minutes. Shri Probal Sengupta attained martyrdom in the line of duty.
