On 03/06/2009 C/459 Gopal Chandra Dey along with ASI/ Biswanath Bera & C/1022 Bishnupada Saha was performing patrolling duty at Pirorgari More under Sareng PS. Suddenly a group of Left Wing Extremists came there and started firing upon them. The Maoists killed him merciless by firing bullets. Shri Gopal Chandra Dey sacrificed his life in the line of duty.
