On 03/06/2009 ASI/ Biswanath Bera alongwith C/1022 Bishnupada Saha & C/459 Gopal Chandra Dey was performing patrolling duty at Pirorgari More under Sareng PS. Suddenly a group of Left Wing Extremists came there and started firing upon them. The Maoists killed him mercilessly by firing bullets. Shri Biswanath Bera attainted martyrdom his life in the line of duty.
