U.S. GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS Third Payment for Americans Receiving Both SSI and Social Security

The Social Security Administration has confirmed that a federal payment will be made before the end of November. In this situation, the check or direct deposit will only be issued to those who have already filed for and been approved for Supplemental Security Income benefits. So, this will be the Agency’s second SSI check in November.

The SSI payment will be a cheque or direct transfer for December that is sent ahead of schedule. This manner, no delays will occur. If the payment was set for December 1, 2024, banks would not be open, so payments may not be processed until the next business day.

Third payment for some Americans on both SSI and Social Security

Although there will be no extra or bonus payments in November, some eligible beneficiaries will get three payments that month. Remember that the SSI was released on November 1, 2024.

On the same day, the Social Security Administration issued checks and made direct deposits to recipients’ bank accounts if they qualified for the payment on the third. The payment for November 3 was issued on November 1 because the third being a Sunday.

Some low-income Americans who qualify for SSI and retirement or SSDI received two payments on November 3, 2024. The SSI payment for December 1 will be issued on November 29, 2024, making this the third payment they receive in the same month.

How much money will SSI recipients get? Social Security unveils it

The November 29, 2024, payment will be for SSI and their maximum amounts are:

  • $472 for an essential person
  • $943 for an individual
  • $1,415 for an eligible married couple

Many SSI participants may be eligible for a reduction due to other sources of income. As a result, they will not be eligible for the maximum amount. For example, the average payment for people aged 65 and up is approximately $574. While all SSI recipients receive approximately $697 from Social Security.
