Chhatna PS

ChhatnaP.S is located 23°18′06″N 86°58′58″E / 23.3017435°N 86.9827080°E / 23.3017435; 86.9827080 and 15 km north west from District HQ. Chhatna Police Station has a jurisdiction over an area of 441.00 sq. km with 13 G.P. It is under Sadar Sub-Division and bordering with Hura P.S of Purulia District in one side and in other side Bankura, Indpur and Taldangra PS’s.. Chhatna is the main town of this area and Chinabari, Dhaban, Ghosegram, Jamtora, Jhunka, Jirrah, Metyala, Saldiha, Susunia and Teghari are the semi towns.

Historical/Tourist places and Culture

Susunia hill is quite popular as treakking spot both inside & out side of Bankura district. It is also an important tourist spot for the people who visit the place to see “Dhara” (Natural Spring) & SilialipiSome 4th century inscriptions are there, referring to a place called Pushkarana, once the capital of Chandravarman. Modern-day Pakhanna is considered to be ancient Pushkarana. Dhokra craftsmen are very popular in Bindhyajam in the Chhatna police station area.
